President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia met with Jordan's King Abdullah II to reinforce their commitment to achieving peace in Palestine. Prabowo emphasized the need for a two-state solution and pledged Indonesia's active role in pursuing it, highlighting shared stances with Jordan on regional stability and closer cooperation.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to advancing peace in Palestine during talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II in Amman on Wednesday.
At the Basman Palace, he stressed that lasting Middle East peace requires a two-state solution guaranteeing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.He pledged Indonesia would actively push for the implementation of the two-state solution.
Prabowo said Indonesia's participation in the Board of Peace and its support for U.S. President Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan reflect its commitment to achieving durable peace. He noted that Indonesia and Jordan share a common stance on promoting regional stability and called for closer cooperation and intensified communication.
Prabowo added that Indonesia seeks to remain fully informed about developments and reaffirmed support for Jordan's ongoing efforts. The visit began with a state ceremony, followed by a photo session and inspection of the guard of honor.

The two leaders then held a one-on-one meeting before convening bilateral talks between their delegations. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia attended the meeting.
